Boom Festival in Portugal
Where: Idanha-a-Nova, Portugal
When: 22 July 2021 – 29 July 2021
Read: Boom 2014 Review
It’s unfortunate that one of the biggest psytrance festivals in the world, Boom , was rescheduled due to the coronavirus, but we expect Boom Festival 2021 to be a massive edition!
While we have to wait until July 2021 to attend Boom Festival, it’s considered the holy grail of psychedelic trance parties. It started way back in 1997, and has been a highlight for Portuguese culture ever since.
The main dance floor, called the Dance Temple, supports a crowd of 15 000 people underneath the shading canopy alone. We’re not sure how Boom 2021 might go down with social distancing, but its an experience worth saving up for.
Ozora Festival in Hungary
When: 02 August – 08 August 2021
Check Out: Ozora
The Festival is set to take place just days after Boom in the village of Ozora, Hungary. In this small village of roughly 2000 people, many psytrance fans from around the world descend to experience a festival like no other. It’s continued to grow in popularity over the years and we’re excited for The Festival 2021.
Momento Demento (MoDem) Festival in Croatia
When: 09 August – 15 August 2021
Momento Demento (MoDem) did not take place in 2020 but we expect the 2021 edition to be fantastic. The festival takes place near a town called Slunj in Croatia. It’s a week long festival dedicated to much harder styles of psychedelic music. The venue is absolutely beautiful too and has tons of waterfalls and fantastic spots to park off for a bit. There’s also a permanent art installation from Daniel Popper that has been turning heads too!
Psy-Fi Festival in Netherlands
When: 25 August – 29 August 2021
In April the Dutch government banned all festivals until September due to the coronavirus. This meant the Festival was just days away from the cut off point. They’ve had to reschedule to 2021, but the festival is currently in jeopardy.
Indian Spirit Festival in Germany
When: 26 August – 30 August 2021
The Spirit Festival is a psytrance music festival near Eldena, Germany, welcoming dedicated devotees of the electronic sub-genre from across Europe to join in the spiritual playground.
While the festival was to take place in 2020, they have rescheduled to August 2021 due to the coronavirus.
Hadra Trance Festival 2020
When: 27 Aug – 30 Aug 2020 (cancelled due to coronavirus)
Hadra was started in 2001 by a small group of electronic music lovers. After a few hiccups with authorities, Hadra Festival will return to close this summer season for the fourth time at the Plan d’eau de Vieure in the Allier. The French festival draws a crowd from throughout Europe and attendance numbers top over 10 000 people.
